emergencyplumbercbr.com.au ("the site") is operated by Emergency Plumber CBR to connect Canberra and Queanbeyan residents, body corporates and businesses with a licensed local plumbing business for emergency and general plumbing work. The site provides information and takes enquiries; the plumbing work itself is carried out and invoiced by the licensed plumbing business servicing the site ("the plumber"). The plumber's business name, ABN and licence number are published on the site once confirmed.

Use of the site

You may use the site for lawful purposes only. Content is provided as general information about plumbing in Canberra and is not a substitute for advice about your specific property. Do not rely on it to carry out plumbing, drainage or gas work yourself; in the ACT and NSW that work must be done by a licensed person.

Enquiries and quotes

  • Sending the callback form or calling does not create a contract. A contract for plumbing work is formed when you accept the plumber's quote.
  • Any call-out or attendance fee and any after-hours rate are stated before a plumber is dispatched. You may decline at that point at no cost.
  • The price for the repair is given on site before work begins. If further work is found to be necessary, a revised price is given before that work starts.
  • Estimated arrival times are given in good faith and depend on traffic, weather and other jobs.

Licensing

Plumbing, drainage and gasfitting work in the Australian Capital Territory must be carried out by a person licensed by Access Canberra under the Construction Occupations (Licensing) Act 2004. In New South Wales, including Queanbeyan, the work must be carried out by a person licensed with NSW Fair Trading. You are entitled to ask for the licence number of the person attending and to verify it with the relevant regulator.

Payment

Payment terms and methods are confirmed by the plumber when the quote is accepted. Invoices are issued by the plumbing business that carries out the work.

Australian Consumer Law

Services supplied to consumers in Australia come with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) that cannot be excluded, including that services will be provided with due care and skill and be fit for purpose. Nothing in these terms limits those rights. Where a guarantee applies and the failure is not major, the remedy is to have the service redone or the cost of doing so refunded.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Emergency Plumber CBR is not liable for loss arising from your use of the information on this site or from delays in responding to enquiries. Responsibility for plumbing work performed at your property rests with the licensed plumbing business that performs it, subject to the Australian Consumer Law.

Text, images and design on this site belong to Emergency Plumber CBR or its licensors. You may not copy or republish them without permission, other than for personal reference.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Australian Capital Territory, Australia. Any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Australian Capital Territory.
